ON Thursday 29th November our class went on a visit to Ambury Farm. We saw Puti the cow being milked and we saw a sheep having its dirty wool shaved off. Then we went for a walk around the farm and saw all the animals. We were able to feed them some special food treats. They loved them!
We are a Year 0/1 class in Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand. Our teacher is Miss Stonestreet.

Farm animal puppets
We made some farm animal puppets and we used the puppet theatre from the library to show our class our plays. Some were really funny and we had a good laugh!
Making butter from cream.
Room 4 have been talking about what we get from the animals on a farm. We know the dairy cow gives us milk and cream. We decided to make some butter from cream. We put the cream in a shaker and everyone had a turn to give it a good shake. It took a very long time for the cream to turn into butter. When we had made the butter we spread it on bread and made fairy bread. It tasted yummy!

The things we see outside our classroom!
There was a lot of excitement inside and outside of our classroom last week! The man had to go up in a cherry picker to change the bulb on the street light near our class. It looked like fun to be able to go up so high!

Keeping ourselves safe.
Our topic at the moment is keeping ourselves safe. We have been talking about what we could do if we get lost at the shops. We talked about asking for help from the shopkeeper of a shop or the security guard or a police officer if we got separated from our Mum and Dad.
