P is for pirate!

We are learning about the letter P this week- so we made some pirate hats! Do we look like scary pirates?

Eating the colour yellow!

Room 4 enjoyed eating yellow fruit- pineapple, yellow apples and bananas.
Some of the fantastic words we used to describe the fruit were- juicy, sweet, crunchy, smooth!

Matariki- The Maori New Year.

We have been doing some weaving as our celebration for Matariki.

The Life Education caravan comes to Papatoetoe Central School!

The Life Education caravan is at Papatoetoe Central School now.  We will be visiting it soon and learning about how we can eat healthy food and stay healthy!  We will meet Harold the giraffe who will talk to us and teach us about healthy food.

We have been reading a book called "I can eat a rainbow".  So we are going to eat a rainbow!
We started with eating the colour orange.  We enjoyed eating oranges, persimmons and carrot sticks.

Gymnastics

All the year ones are doing gymnastics for P.E. now.  We are learning how to do a forward roll, how to jump over the vault and how to roll along a mat. We are also learning how to walk along the balance beam.  We are getting really good at doing these gymnastics activities.
